This is not a package holiday, however we will be organising transfers to and from the shoot locations and provide all food and drink during the day. Flights, accommodation, dinner are additional costs and you will also need to arrange your own travel insurance.
For any German-speaking photographers wishing to attend, our second tutor, Radmila Kerl, is German and will translate for you :)
Falls Sie eher Deutsch bevorzugen: die Münchner Fotografin Radmila Kerl ist unsere zweite Trainerin und wird nicht nur in Deutsch unterrichten, sondern auch sonst alles gerne übersetzen :)

The Experience
Thanks to various volcanic episodes over the years, most of the land in Fuerterventura consists of strange stone and rock contours which boast some of the most impressive landscapes in the whole of Europe. There are over 150 sand dues to play in too.
In addition to the awe inspiring landscapes are a large selection of abandoned buildings and ruins which will provide a wealth of of shooting opportunity. Using available light, speedlights and Elinchrom Quadra Heads we will be producing inspirational figure in the landscape portraits with 2 carefully chosen female models.
Join us on this amazing adventure! Make great friends, take fantastic pictures and create memories to last a lifetime.

Great few days! So many lovely images. - Jenny
Thank you Carla! By the powers combined of yourself and Damien, with a little synergy thrown in from the group we all created something incredibly beautiful and inspiring! those two days certainly helped give me more understanding of what I want to achieve as a photographer - so for this I can't thank you all enough. - Paul
What an event this was! I highly recommend to book this workshop to everyone who would like to push their own boundaries to the next level and create something amazing for the portfolio – let alone the fantastic time we had together! - Radmila
What can I say but thank you so much for another mind blowing experience. Carla is incredible. So versatile, so beautiful and so easy to shoot and get along with. It was great to catch up with old friends and meet some fantastic new ones. I loved using the Quadras they are a fantastic piece of kit. - Lee
Although I could only be there for one day with you, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and learnt soooo much! It was just what I needed to spur me on. I would love to repeat the experience in the future. - Bernard

As long as you can change the basic settings on your camera you will easily keep pace with the tuition on this two day workshop. It is not however going to be easy or dumbed down. Damien will explain every aspect of each shot. You will be challenged on artistic and technical aspects of photography but in a fabulously friendly way. You will be inspired and amazed at just what you can shoot when you are shown the ropes.
The Hotel
The Barcelo hotel is large, clean and well maintained. The rooms are spacious with comfortable beds and well appointed bathrooms.
The hotel lobby bar is open until 12.30am and in Jan 2012 a pint of beer cost €3 and a generous Bombay Sapphire Gin and tonic was €5. A pianist entertains guests enjoying pre dinner drinks. The included breakfast is buffet style with a superb range of healthy choices as well as a full cooked feast option.
The hotel is located 100m from a well appointed chemist and a plethora of restaurants and bars.
In the evenings delegates are free to do their own thing it would be impossible to please everyone with a single restaurant choice but you are of course welcome to join us!
We will probably eat Mexican one night and maybe a steak on the other. There are numerous Indian, Italian, Mexican and Spanish, restaurants within a 5 minute walk of the hotel.
You will need to contact the hotel yourself to place your booking.
The hotel address is: Avenida Grandes Playas, 12, 35660 Corralejo, Fuerteventura.
Website.
Getting to the hotel from the airport
• Take a taxi to Poerto Del Rosario bus station, 5 mins away (€8). Then take a bus to Corralejo 30 mins (€5)
• Or take a taxi all the way (€60)
• Or hire a car
Recommended kit list
We are shooting in dusty and sandy locations. Fuerteventura is known for being windy so sand storms can kick up from time to time. Equipment protection will need to be considered.
1. One SLR, with up to 3 lenses
2. A PW Plus 2, or a TT1, or a TT5 programmed to transmit only mode on C1 and C2
3. A backup camera body
4. Blower brush to remove sand from kit
5. Sensor cleaner
If you don't own one of the items mentioned don't feel the need to rush out and buy one just for the workshop. Get in touch with us and we may be able to lend you a bit of kit for the day.

Booking your place
Click the 'Book Your Place' button for the event you'd like to attend and follow the checkout process. To secure your place you only need to pay the initial deposit, which can be paid by debit card, credit card or with a PayPal balance. You do not need to have a PayPal account to pay using PayPal. Once signed up you will be given access to the Facebook group for the trip where you can 'meet' your fellow delegates and take part in discussions about genres, models and styling. The remainder of the balance will be requested closer to the actual date of the event.
Cancellation Policy
As our costs for each workshop remain the same no matter how many delegates attend, please note that just like any pre-booked tickets for the theatre, concert, flights etc, we are unable to give any refund in the event of non-attendance, regardless of the circumstances. The exception to this is if we have prior notice and are able to put a cancellation place back online AND your place is resold. In this event we will of course make a full refund or credit to you. We also reserve the right to cancel any workshop if there is insufficient demand, especially if it means that our costs would be higher than our income. Please therefore do not leave it until the last few weeks if you are interested in a particular date, as you may find that it has been removed! Please note that we cannot be liable for any other costs incurred by yourself, so please check with us before booking any non-refundable accommodation or transport.
